Greater Grant County
Internship Storytelling Campaign Proposal
Project Goal + Outcome:
The goal of this project is to create a collection of compelling video stories that help local businesses understand the value of hosting interns, while also helping students and families see the career opportunities available throughout Grant County.
Rather than creating traditional informational videos, this project will use real stories from local businesses, employees, and students to show:
Why internships matter
How businesses can successfully build internship programs
What careers in Grant County actually look like
How local employers are investing in the next generation
The final result will be a long-term storytelling resource the Chamber can use to support workforce development, business engagement, and community awareness.
Businesses & Content:
This phase of the project focuses on six local businesses and organizations, split into two groups based on where they are in their internship journey:
Established Internship Programs
Potential Businesses: Marion Utilities, Wylie Metals, The Academy, Parkview Health
These four businesses have already built internship programs on their own. Their videos focus on why internships have worked for them and how they built their program — the inspiring, proof-of-concept stories that help other businesses say "tell me more."
New Internship Programs (in partnership with the Chamber)
Potential Businesses: Prysmian, Radiant Health
These two businesses are in the process of building an internship program with the Chamber's help. Their videos offer a live, in-progress look at that journey — the inspiration behind wanting to start, and a glimpse at how the Chamber is partnering with them to make it happen.
Each of the six businesses gets one fully edited video (3-5 min) and one social media cut-down.
Style + Approach:
We'll use two different styles for this phase, matched to where each business is in their journey.
Established internship programs: The Business Profile
A sleek, premium style where business owners tell their own story directly to the viewer through a beautifully lit, sit-down interview (interviewer stays off-camera).

Optionally we can add a cold open to this style to give a more candid feel. Beginning of this video as a reference.
New internship programs: The Insider Walkthrough
A more personal, walk-and-talk style — intimate and real, following the story as it's still unfolding rather than a polished sit-down. Fits naturally with these two businesses since their internship programs are still being built.

Deliverables + Timeline:
6 full videos (one per business), max 5 min, horizontal
6 social cut-downs, 30-60 seconds, vertical
4 Myth vs. Reality clips (one from each of the four established-program shoots), ~30 sec, vertical — quick single-question prompts like "What's the biggest thing people don't understand about what you do here?"
Timeline on delivery is TBD
A note on future content: During the shoots at the four established businesses, we'll capture enough additional interview footage to edit a second video from each, but that second edit isn't included in this phase. If you'd like those videos made down the road, that footage will already be in hand and can be quoted as a follow-up project.
